Job description
CNC Machinist | Ludington, MI Salary Range: $44,000 - $75,000 depending on experience Are you a dedicated professional with a passion for precision machining and producing high-quality parts? The Opportunity We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Ludington region seeking CNC Machinists. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes) according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs. Perform quality control checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Load and unload raw materials and finished parts, ensuring proper tool changes. Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and maintain a clean work area. Recommended Qualifications Hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine maintenance. Strong understanding of G-code and M-code for program editing and troubleshooting. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM). Experience with CMMs or other advanced metrology/inspection equipment. Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
