Job description
Welder | Walker, MI Salary Range: $42,000 - $72,000 depending on experience Are you a forward-thinking professional with a passion for precision welding and fabricating quality components? The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Walker that are seeking skilled Welders. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities Perform various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) on metal components according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine proper welding techniques. Operate and maintain welding equipment, including welders, grinders, and cutting tools, safely and efficiently. Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to established standards, identifying and correcting defects. Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and shaping metal parts. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and parts as required by production orders. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols. Demonstrated knowledge of welding safety protocols and quality standards. Physical dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to perform welding tasks. Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX). Bonus Qualifications Experience with robotic welding or automated welding systems. Advanced AWS certifications (e.g., D1.2, D1.6, D17.1). Proficiency in reading complex engineering blueprints and GD&T. Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
