Deputy Clerk II
The Collin County Clerk is actively seeking candidates to fill the position of Deputy Clerk II in our civil courts section. This position will be responsible for accurately processing court documents filed through the eFile Texas database and ensuring all information is correctly imported into the Odyssey case management court system. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person to customers and attorneys, as well as foster positive interactions with judges and other staff. This position will be expected to perform heavy data entry with a high level of accuracy. May be required to pull court dockets, prepare and process records for scanning, and prepare related correspondence, reports and statistics. Provides related clerical assistance to the department.
Candidates must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency and two years of work experience. The ability to pass a typing test with a rate of 50 WPM is required. Ability to pass a criminal background check is required.
Work requires strong knowledge of software applications including MS Windows 10 and MS Office 2010 or higher. Must have ability to perform advanced data entry and scanning functions with strong accuracy and attention to detail, and must have strong customer service skills. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills and demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. A broad knowledge of legal terminology and documents, and the court system is highly desired. College education resulting in an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
Testing Requirements
This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above.
Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8 : 30am - 4 : 30pm, Monday through Friday. You do not need an appointment to test, but you will need to bring a government issued photo ID. If you have any questions regarding the testing, please feel free to call 972-548-4606.
