The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The divisionleveragesa broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.

The Space Control andAwarenessDepartment (SCAD) is seeking a new team member to support mission analyses. SCADperforms concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithmdevelopmentand evaluation support for national security space customers emphasizingspace domain awareness (SDA), Radar, Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) sensors,electronic warfare (EW), directed energy (DE)effects, orbitdetermination,and space protection and security.

TheSpace DomainAwareness andSpace Control Analyst(Member of Technical Staff- Modeling & Simulation and Signal & Image Process Engineering) will provide project and technical leadership, analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering and architecting, and modeling and simulation analysis for space protection,space threat susceptibility, directed energy analysis, and space domainawareness. Candidatewill interact directly with government customers as well as Aerospace program office personnel in the Colorado Springs area and collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office personnel in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, and other locations.

Work Model: This is a 100% on-site positionlocatedin Colorado Springs, CO.

WhatYou’llBe Doing

  • Provide astrodynamic analytical support, algorithm development, systems engineering and architecting, and modeling and simulation analysis for space surveillance systems and missions.

  • Conduct a range of analysis using a framework of modeling, simulation and analysis capabilities including in-house, custom and commercially available/government provided modeling tools

  • Analyze electro-optical (EO), infrared (IR), radar and passive radio frequency sensor concepts, architectures, and algorithms.

  • Perform space protection and space threat susceptibility, vulnerability analysis and resiliency assessment.

  • Support exercises of space systems and evaluate exercise and training requirements.

  • Application of modeling and simulation for mission operations

  • Contribute to risk and resilience assessments over a broad range of threats to satellite operations including, but not limited to, RF and optical interference and counterspace threats.

  • Support other focus areas of the department, which could include modeling and risk assessments of kinetic threats (such as debris, collision, and disposal), Space Domain Awareness, and mission operations.

  • Provide independent assessments and lead studies with teams of analysts

What you need to be successfulSpace Domain Awareness and Space Control Analyst- Modeling & Simulation Engineering

MinimumRequirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Demonstrated experience within the SDA, space control missionareasor MW/MT/MD mission areas

  • 2 or more years of increasingly responsible and related engineering/scientific experience

  • Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and/or algorithm development

  • Led development of computer tools and simulations to support analyses of interdisciplinary support teams and performing general systems engineering and integration support

  • Experience in at leastonethe following programming languages; Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN.

  • Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high-level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain andmaintaina security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship isrequiredto obtain a security clearance.

Inaddition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Senior Member Technical Staff - Modeling & Simulation and Signal & Image Process Engineering include:

  • 4 or more years of relevant and progressive professional experience

How you can stand out

  • Advanced technical degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Current TS/SCI clearance.

  • Background in command and control.

  • Experience with EO/IR sensors, especially for missile warning/missile defense

  • Operational experience as an orbit analyst, space control operator, battle manager in the air, maritime or missile domains, or an Air Force weapons school graduate

  • Experience with,or understanding of,electronic warfare and/or passive RF collection modeling

  • Experience with space surveillance network sensor operations, or other SOSI network sensor operations

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
