Certified Nurse Assistant Telemetry Unit
The certified nurse assistant provides basic patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.

The position is located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, under the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).
This is a full-time role within the Hospital Authority (MUHA) providing clinical and research support services.
The pay rate is hourly, with a pay grade of Health-19, and the cost center is CC004746 ORBG - 3 East. The scheduled weekly hours are 36.
Work environment includes exposure to infectious, contagious, and blood borne diseases, contact with patients, and occasional exposure to irregular hours and emergency situations.
Supervisory responsibilities are not applicable for this position.
Financial stewardship of supplies and resources is required.
Essential functions include recognizing, obtaining, and reporting data, providing patient care services, obtaining vital signs, documenting findings, communicating information, demonstrating sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy, maintaining confidentiality, and following the MUSC Standards of Behaviors.
Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, smelling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and utilizing safe patient handling equipment for lifting patients greater than 35 pounds.
Mental requirements include reading, interpreting manuals, writing reports, presenting information, defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, multitasking, and prioritizing responsibilities.
The position primarily interacts with all age groups and requires knowledge and skill to meet the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related needs of patients, family members, and visitors from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Must have successfully completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program or a Patient Care Technician certificate. Some experience is preferred but not required.
