Since the doors opened more than 59 years ago, UF Health Leesburg Hospital has continued to build upon its reputation as a leading medical center and the most comprehensive provider of health care services in the region. The hospital offers advanced cardiovascular care, including one of the largest open-heart programs in Florida. The American College of Cardiology has recognized UF Health Leesburg Hospital for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain by awarding a Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primacy PCI and Resuscitation its highest and best level of accreditation. The hospital also offers world-class orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery, life-saving emergency care, stroke treatment, labor & delivery, and so much more.
Works under the direction of the Director of Therapy Services and/or the Supervisor of Therapy Services. The Licensed Therapist Assistant (LPTA) provides direct patient care, as directed by the evaluating Physical Therapist to all those patients referred for PT at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg Rehabilitation Hospital and The Villages Regional Hospital. The LPTA participates in all team conferences, staff meetings and any other appropriate meetings deemed necessary by the specific unit. The LPTA is able to interact on a professional basis with all Alliance Therapy Team members and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups. The LPTA demonstrates competency to care for patients in accordance with discipline specific therapy standards as defined by the Florida Dept. of Health Board of PT. The LPTA provides instruction and assistance to all Alliance Therapy Team members and acts in compliance with the ethical conduct of the organization at all times.
