Merchandising Intern
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina US
Summary: We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins and outs of our daily routines and procedures while utilizing gained educational knowledge and experience.
Essential Functions:
- PLANNING
- Review Company Level Monday Morning Reports and Review additional MicroStrategy reports for exposure to the application- eventually lead to ownership some reporting
- Review and participate in the Promo Pricing Process and or Box Price Process
- Attend our Weekly Planner meetings
- Assist in planning a category within a department with supervision
- ALLOCATION
- Shadowing Merchandisers - Walking through new inbound receipts
- Allocation Strategies Reserve allocations, Case pack/Bulk Consolidation Transfers
- Analyzing business Daily/Weekly/Monthly
- Shadowing Analysts- New Store and Remodel process
- Corporate Transfers Help Stores and Regional help Analyzing a Stores product mix/sales
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Have some knowledge of numerical and analytical skills
- Great decision-making skills
- Must have the ability to work with a team
- Must be able to be candid when speaking to the team
- Must have some retail knowledge
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have organizational skills
- Currently enrolled in a degree for Fashion Merchandising
- Work experience in an office environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to look at computer monitors for long periods of time
- Must have the ability to use hands and fingers
- Must be able to exert up to at least 10 lbs. of force occasionally
- Must be able to be mobile
Work Environment:
- This job is done in a traditional office environment.
- There will be some periods of sitting and some periods of standing.
