Role Summary:
The Data Engineer will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, implement data quality controls, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure. This role ensures datasets are accessible for data scientists and analysts, supporting the organization’s data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines to process large geospatial datasets, including satellite imagery.
- Implement data quality controls and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure datasets are accessible and reliable.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for data systems and processes.
- Support organizational reporting and analysis through well-structured data systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in data engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).
- Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality controls.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with geospatial datasets or satellite imagery.
- Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools.
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven data projects.
