TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Corpus Christi, Texas, 78411!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: Required certifications relevant to practice Must-Have: Acute med/surg experience of 1+ years within the last year Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time Description: Data collection will be done on 03/10/2026. The unit has 16 beds and 25 staff members. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 3-4 registered nurses, and 1 patient care assistant. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 3 registered nurses, and 1 patient care assistant. Patient ratios are a maximum of 6:1. Standard electronic medical record system is used. The unit consists of med/surg patients and COVID-19 positive patients. Typical hiring profile requires candidates with acute med/surg experience. Candidates with 2+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year are preferred. RN candidates with ortho or neuro-surgery backgrounds are preferred. A med/surg/telemetry background would also be acceptable. Standard nursing skills include IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, and central line maintenance. Medication administration and communication with all members of the care team are essential. Documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) is required. The best personality fit would be friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused. The position will involve rotating weekends and on-call as needed.
