The Accountant is responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This includes creating financial transactions and reports from that information. The Accountant will evaluate transactions for proper classification and making decisions regarding the posting of the transactions. The Accountant reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy, assists with establishing policies and procedures for financial reporting, and helps maintain the company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance.
