Role: Java Developer (API)

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: Remote - Merrifield, VA

Assignment Type: Contract Only

Duration: Approx. 18 months

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and build modern APIs using a microservices architecture. This role is ideal for developers who enjoy owning services end-to-end, building systems from scratch, and solving complex technical challenges in a distributed, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs using Java and related frameworks
• Build and deploy microservices from the ground up
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with proper testing
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize applications for performance and reliability
• Collaborate with technical team members to deliver high-quality API solutions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong experience with RESTful web services and API development
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture
• Proven debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $ and $ per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
