Position Summary

The Nutrition Science Intern supports the Nutrition Science team by conducting scientific literature reviews anddata-informedanalyses to evaluate health‑related outcomes of ingredients and nutrition‑based interventions. This role emphasizesevidencesynthesis, interpretation of health outcomes, and scientific communication, with growing opportunities to engage in quantitative and data‑driven analyses related to nutrition, aging, andhealth span.The intern will work closely with nutrition scientists andcross-functionalpartners to translate scientific evidence into insights that inform internal decision‑making and external communication.This position is part of the Nutrition Science department and reports to theManager,Nutrition Science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and critical analyses of scientific literature related to nutrition, health outcomes, aging, and ingredient research.

  • Synthesize findings and present clear,evidence-basedrecommendations to internal stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the development ofconsumer facingand internal scientific messaging based on evidence synthesis.

  • Serve as a scientific communicator onnutrition relatedtopics across the organization.

  • Where applicable, support the interpretation of health‑related data (e.g., clinical, observational, or nutrition‑related datasets), including collaboration on basic statistical or quantitative analyses.

  • As opportunities arise,assistwith data‑driven projects, which may include exploratory analyses of microbiome or other health‑related datasets using existing analytical tools or models.

  • Shadow nutrition scientists and gain exposure to related technical andcross-functionalteams.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in an advanced degree program (PhD, MS, MD etc.) orpostdoctoral appointment in:

  • Nutrition Science, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Clinical Research, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Gerontology, Physiological Science, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.

Experience

  • 2ndyear or higherGraduate levelstudent with research experienceinclinical and/or pre-clinical study design, development and execution, statistics, or lab work related to life science is preferred.

  • Candidates with a primary focus inlife sciencefield, and secondary training (minor, coursework, or research experience) in biostatistics or quantitative analysis are strongly encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong foundationin nutrition science and/orhealth relatedresearch.

  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and study design.

  • Basic familiarity with biostatistics,data analysis (e.g., R, Python, SAS, or similar), or quantitative methods is a plusbut notrequired.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate scientific findings fornonscientificaudiences.

  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively in across-functionalenvironment.

Program Details/Physical Requirements

  • Availability for 8–12 weeksduring Summer 2026, with a start date between May and June 2026.

  • Hybrid work mode (combination of on-site and remote work; specific on-site expectations to be confirmed).

  • General office environment; ability to sit for extended periods.

For candidates in California and New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $30-35 an hour, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications, and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.

Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor.
