The Department of Revenue's Motor Vehicle Division is hiring an Accounting Technician 2 to support fiscal control operations within the division.
Under the guidance of the Accounting Technician Supervisor, this role focuses on ensuring the accurate and timely execution of fiscal control tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general accounting processes.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Balancing and reconciling accounting records, statements, and reports.
* Collecting fees or revenues, disbursing payments, and posting transactions to appropriate accounts.
* Compiling, preparing, and maintaining standard accounting records and reports.
* Providing information and interpretation to external parties such as banks, auditors, vendors, and government entities.
* Processing and recording financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, and requisitions, in ledgers or computer systems.
* Acting as a liaison to County Financial Officers.
Entry Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Accounting Technician 1 (FIT020) or equivalent position.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proficiency in using accounting software to record and report financial data.
* Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of problem-solving.
* Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
* Competency in Microsoft Excel.
* Experience in verifying calculations, reconciling daily collections with system reports, and recording expenditures in spreadsheets.
* Solid foundation in basic accounting principles.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience handling credit card chargebacks and returned checks.
* Background in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions and data analysis.
Salary & Pay Grade: $35,618 - $42,000; Pay Grade H
This position is located at the Department of Revenue's South Meadow Regional Office, located at 4125 Welcome All Rd, Atlanta 30349.
This position is on-site and requires daily office attendance from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
