Columbus, Ohio client seeks a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist contractor responsible for full life‑cycle recruiting for corporate/exempt roles such as engineers and project managers. The role involves recruiting, screening, and recommending placement of staff using creative sourcing methods (both internal and external). With increased experience, the Senior specialist can manage technical and non‑technical exempt professional positions, management positions, and other related responsibilities as assigned.
This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal guidance. It can also serve as a useful resource to other less seasoned Talent Acquisition employees.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside within 50 miles of a facility. Examples include Roanoke, Columbus, Tulsa, Corpus Christi, Ft. Wayne, and Shreveport.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Partners with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to determine staffing needs.
- Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checks, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire), and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non‑exempt position openings within an assigned territory.
- Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates within an assigned territory.
- Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates. Partners with a Sourcing Specialist to bring a diverse slate of qualified candidates to the hiring manager. Manages the internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, and transfer offer letters.
- Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process. Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
- Communicates important employment information during the delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, non‑compete agreements). Responsible for ensuring onboarding and new hire orientation processes occur.
- Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance. Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
- Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to the industry. Takes the lead in the development of one or more annual affirmative action plans.
- Suggests and helps implement on‑going process improvements to ensure an effective, efficient, and compliant recruiting process.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field preferred; or equivalent years of experience.
- Five years of corporate experience in recruitment and placement of applicants in professional and management level exempt positions, including 3 years of knowledge and experience working with electronic applicant systems and internet recruiting sources.
