  • In this role, you will ensure safe, effective, and optimal medication management across all dimensions of patient care.
  • You will interpret and evaluate medication orders, support clinical decision-making, and perform key pharmacy functions such as order entry, pharmacokinetics, IV-to-PO conversions, and therapeutic interchange .
  • You will also participate in multidisciplinary rounds , provide direct patient care, and contribute to staff education and training.
  • This role includes mentoring pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents.

Requirements Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school Licensure/Certification : Texas Pharmacist License (or must obtain within 90 days) Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 180 days) ACPE IV Sterile Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required for inpatient roles within 6 months) Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification preferred Experience : Minimum 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in: Outpatient/Retail setting (ACS roles), OR Inpatient hospital setting (IP roles) PGY1 residency highly preferred Communication Skills : Strong written communication (reports) Technical Skills : Proficiency in MS Word and computer applications Knowledge/Skills : Analytical and research skills Medical terminology Statistical and mathematical knowledge Clinical problem-solving and design skills Work Schedule : Night shift Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, overtime, travel, and on-call Join Harris Health System and be part of a world-class pharmacy team dedicated to delivering safe, innovative, and patient-centered medication management.
