Job description

Ops Criminal Justice Information Analyst I

This position is responsible for providing quality service to agencies and the general public as well as processing requests. This position is responsible for performing criminal history queries in multiple criminal justice information systems to properly assist the customer. This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center / Florida Crime Information Center (NCIC / FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Scanning paper documentation into electronic filing system;
  • Managing shared email inboxes and distributes requests to proper staff;
  • Receiving routes or handles telephone calls in accordance with defined guidelines;
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail in accordance with defined guidelines;
  • Identifying deficient criminal history requests and forwards to appropriate administrative staff members for processing;
  • Sorting and assigning incoming requests for processing as outlined in the Criminal History Record Maintenance (CHRM) operations manual;
  • Monitoring incoming calls and emails and completes intake for those requiring processing;
  • Maintaining security and integrity of data housed within the department database;
  • Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed; and
  • Gathering fingerprint cards or microfilm images needed for research purposes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
  • Ability to record, collect, evaluates, and analyzes data;
  • Ability to organize files, records and / or other materials;
  • Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically;
  • Ability to operate personal computers and other office equipment;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
  • Ability to follow instructions;
  • Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness; and
  • Ability to read and interpret state statutes.
  • Base Salary : $18.82 / hour

    Hiring Process :

    You will be evaluated for this job based on your previous knowledge and experience. Additional reviews may be performed to screen for preferred qualifications, experience and education. Your qualifications will be based on knowledge, skills, and abilities and other elements relevant to this position supported by the information in your application.

    Background :

    FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include : financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant's immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting. This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.

    Notes :

    Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
