Your Role on the Team
Under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Pike and her multi-institutional research team, the Staff Research Associate (SRA) will apply established procedures to address grant or research project objectives. Follow standard practices in psychosocial and neurocognitive assessments in human subjects research and will receive detailed training and instructions on all assignments.
The Staff Research Associate (SRA) will closely work with the primary Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Pike and will oversee all research activities but not limited to : (1) assisting with research protocol development, (2) assisting research participant recruitment with PI (3) collecting research data via hospital or clinic records, and online platforms, (4) maintaining records [paper / electronic] and databases [Excel or SPSS], (5) outcome dissemination (analysis, writing abstracts, manuscripts, and grant proposals) and (6) providing general administrative support and other duties as assigned (IRB, ordering supplies). The SRA must be able to work independently and as part of a neuroimaging research team at UCLA. Must have a car and be able to drive for occasional Saturday or Sunday research activities / testing. The position will be based in the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Pike's research aims to improve psychosocial and neurocognitive outcomes in adolescents and adult with chronic medical conditions, in particular, congenital and acquired heart disease and health equity.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required, including high fluency in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish.
