Position Summary

As a Quality Specialist - Distribution, you are responsible for ensuring that our soft-baked products produced, stored, and distributed across production facilities, co-manufacturing partners, and warehouse hubs meet Nature's Bakery's high-quality standards. This includes managing product release in alignment with quality SOPs, ensuring compliance with regulatory mandates under FDA and FSMA, and supporting food safety programs within the network. The role plays a critical part in protecting product integrity, reducing liability, and improving logistics quality systems across the supply chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the Hold and Release program across the Nature's Bakery network.
• Provide direction on quality dispositions for products across the network.
• Manage the Micro Hold program to ensure containment of finished product during microbiological testing.
• Drive continuous improvement of hold / release systems, including automation, to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Lead the Traceability Program, overseeing daily inventory management and conducting Mock Recall exercises.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Quality, Operations, Distribution, Customer Service) to address issues and drive corrective actions.
• Support the obsolete inventory process, identifying and executing initiatives to reduce warehouse impact.
• Lead the Disposition Authorization process for quality-related product destructions.
• Ensure documentation (destruction and COD certificates) is provided by warehouses for full closure of hold events.
• Review vendor contracts to verify destruction compliance with GFSI standards.
• Prepare and present metrics and financial impact reports for month-end compliance and liability tracking.
• Conduct internal and external audits of warehouse and logistics facilities to ensure adherence to GFSI, FSMA, and company standards.
• Manage annual and onboarding training for warehouse, repackaging, and new co-manufacturing locations.
