The Role The Primary Therapist is a minimum of a Master’s Level Clinician responsible for the individual and family therapy of specific clients, and group therapy for a group of clients. The therapist specializes in working with clients with eating disorders, is mature, flexible, and innovative, and brings a loving, positive attitude to our expert Clinical Team. The Primary Therapist works well with other departments to create a treatment plan for clients. This position is a part-time, 25 hour position in our Maple region, which covers I L, IN, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NY, OH, PA, TN, WI and WV. Applicants must be licensed in one or more of these states in order to qualify for this position. What You'll Do Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients. Diagnose and treat mental health disorders. Create and update individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. Meet with patients regularly to provide services and treatment, and to adjust treatment plans as necessary. Coordinate and arrange for services needed for each individual client. Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress. Conduct group therapy sessions according to program schedule. Involve and advise family members when appropriate. Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary. Maintain thorough records of patient meetings and progress. Follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality. Communicate regularly with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care. Attend weekly staff meetings to consult on individual cases. Attend weekly treatment team meetings to consult with clients about individual progress. Create weekly individualized therapeutic and experiential opportunities for clients and communicate them to patients. Conduct concurrent insurance reviews for individual clients. Engage in ongoing advocacy work for mental health parity. Engage in community based speaking opportunities to increase eating disorder awareness. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. Must be fully licensed and can work without supervision. Able to get licensure in other states when asked. Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. Experience treating clients with Eating Disorders. Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of eating disorders, trauma, mental illness, and related issues. Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for dually diagnosed populations. Understanding of diagnostic criteria for co-occurring conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria within the continuum of care. Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice settings. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize workload and work independently. Physical & Environmental Requirements Must have reliable internet connection. Must be comfortable operating a computer and smart-phone and navigate applications within macOS and iOS. Must be comfortable communicating with colleagues via chat, telephone, and video calls. Must be able to sit for the majority of the shift. This is a work-from-home position.Work should be performed in a private, quiet space with minimal background noise.
