At Roaring Fork Tax & Accounting, this role plays a critical part in helping clients feel confident, informed, and supported throughout the tax process.

You'll work directly with business owners and individual taxpayers, helping them navigate tax matters with clarity while delivering the high-quality service and expertise they rely on.

This isn't a role where you simply prepare returns and move on.

It's an opportunity to combine technical tax expertise, client communication, problem solving, and continuous learning in a firm that is actively building a more modern, technology-driven approach to tax and accounting services.

What You'll Spend Your Time Doing

• Preparing individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065.

• Reviewing financial information and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Communicating directly with clients and helping them navigate the tax preparation process.

• Responding to client questions and explaining tax concepts in a clear and understandable way.

• Collaborating with the Tax Manager and team to ensure high-quality work and exceptional service.

• Leveraging technology and AI-powered tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Contributing ideas that help improve processes and create a better experience for clients.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of tax preparation experience.

• Experience preparing business tax returns (1120, 1120S, and 1065).

• Strong communication and client service skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Comfort learning and utilizing technology and tax software.

Preferred

• Experience with Lacerte or similar professional tax software.

• CPA, EA, or actively pursuing certification.

• Experience serving construction, real estate, or closely held business clients.

• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

$85,000–$105,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.
