Maintenance Technician
Location : Oak Creek, WI 53154
Hourly Rate : $39.00 / hr., – $42.00 / hr. + (shift premium for 2nd & 3rd shifts)
Employment Type : Permanent
Hiring Bonus : $1,000.00 (paid in $250.00 increments every three months on the last payroll of the month)
Shift Schedule :
- 2nd Shift : 2 : 30 PM – 11 : 00 PM ( Premium : $1.50 / hour)
- 3rd Shift : 10 : 30 PM – 7 : 00 AM ( Premium : $3.00 / hour)
- Training : 2 weeks on 1st shift with weekly review; may extend to 3 weeks if necessary.
- Overtime : Limited; weekend work only in special cases during regular shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency of high-speed packaging and production equipment.Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems to minimize downtime.Execute maintenance tasks in compliance with OSHA, SQF, and company safety standards.Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to log work orders, track schedules, and complete assignments efficiently.Support root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and PM completion.Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve equipment issues, including safety circuits, conveyor systems, refrigeration systems, heated sealers, motors, gearboxes, VFDs, and PLC-controlled systems.Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and downtime in CMMS.Support production during equipment setup, changeovers, and adjustments.Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless production operations.Maintain and organize tools and spare parts.Participate in daily meetings to communicate maintenance updates and improvement opportunities.Test safety systems for compliance with regulations.Assist in audits and inspections by providing detailed equipment maintenance reports.Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise :
Experience with electrical, mechanical, and automated systems, preferably in high-speed packaging.Knowledge of TPM, RCM, RCFA, and PMO practices.Mechanical Systems :
Understanding of gears, bearings, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.Skilled with tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.Electrical Systems :
Proficient in troubleshooting AC / DC motors, motor controls, and power systems.Experience with PLC diagnostics and basic ladder logic programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley).Automation Systems :
Basic understanding of robotics, motion controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Preventive Maintenance :
