Project Manager (Low-Voltage)

Chantilly, VA

The Project Manager owns full project execution and leads communication, schedules, budgeting, coordination, and close-out. This includes managing budgets, schedules, resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires close coordination with customers, vendors, superintendents, safety teams, and project consultants while ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires no direct supervision.

Relationship Development

  • Manage vendor and partner relationships to ensure performance and delivery.
  • Lead communication with customers and manage satisfaction.
  • Pursue new opportunities and expand existing accounts.
  • Join estimating kickoffs and support partner selection, bid reviews, and proposal writing.

Communication & Coordination

  • Manage all stakeholder communication for the project.
  • Lead project and customer meetings including internal and customer kick-offs, and project meetings; document meetings and action items in Procore.
  • Prepare and communicate detailed project status reports, including delay notices.
  • Manages coordination efforts across all project disciplines.

Planning, Scheduling & Project Close-Out

  • Lead full project setup in Procorefinalize directories, budgets, SOVs, schedules, workflows, and ensure all team members and partners are added correctly.
  • Lead safety planningcreate/review JHA and Safety Plan, verify training, certifications, and equipment readiness, and conduct project orientation.
  • Manage scheduling and sequencing of all project activities; ensure Procore is kept up to date.
  • Develop and issue full WBS and detailed project procedures.
  • Review submittals to ensure coordination and compliance with schedule and contract documents.
  • Owns close-out documentation, inspection resolution, and final turnover.
  • Lead customer close-out meetings and ensure completion.

Profit, Budgeting & Procurement Management

  • Own project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Track and report financial status and performance metrics.
  • Review and approve weekly timesheets and invoices for accuracy, scope alignment, and cost coding; resolve discrepancies with vendors or field teams.
  • Lead management of scope and cost changes.
  • Negotiate and perform full material buy-out and logistics.

Constructability, Quality & Safety

  • Lead all site QC efforts and enforce specifications.
  • Oversee daily quality inspections and documentation.
  • Ensure project-wide safety compliance and accountability.

Contract, Risk & Compliance Management

  • Ensure all owner contracts are in place, uploaded, and understood; align project setup, billing, and deliverables with contract terms.
  • Lead creation, submission, and approval of all change orders; ensure no subcontractor work begins without customer approval.
  • Negotiate vendor and partner purchase orders independently.
  • Lead project-level risk tracking and mitigation planning.
  • Ensure code compliance and permit requirements are met.

Talent Management and Team Collaboration

  • Assign and oversee team responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative project culture.
  • Allocate resources and adjust assignments by workload.
  • Provide clear feedback and performance coaching to team members.

Travel:

Up to 20% travel to job sites.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This role operates in both office and field environments. Field work may involve exposure to extreme weather, construction sites, and potentially hazardous materials. Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs/ladders on job sites; lift up to 20 lbs; maneuver in small or confined spaces.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent education and experience in construction management, engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in project management.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Commercial general contracting experience, preferably in the data center or mission-critical space.

Project Management Certification.

Compu Dynamics Pay Range

$135,000 - $150,000 USD

Compu Dynamics offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, well-being, and growth of our team members. Full-time employees are eligible for:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance effective the first of the month following hire, with plans currently offered through Cigna.

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan automatic enrollment at 3% on your date of hire; company match up to 4% (with a 7% contribution needed to receive the full match), plus profit-sharing opportunities.

  • Employer-Paid Life Insurance coverage equal to 1x your salary.

  • Short-Term Disability (STD) fully paid by Compu Dynamics.

  • Voluntary Benefits including Long-Term Disability, supplemental life insurance (employee, spouse, children), Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity coverage.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrue up to 160 hours (4 weeks) annually, beginning after 60 days of employment.

  • Paid Holidays 7 company-observed holidays plus a floating holiday.

  • Birthday Time Off 8 hours of paid time off during your birthday month.

  • Paid Parental Leave 8 weeks maternity leave and 2 weeks paternity leave, concurrent with FMLA.

  • Volunteer Time Off (VTO) 40 hours annually for community service.

  • Boot Reimbursement up to $150 annually, available from your first day.

  • Tool Reimbursement $250 annually, available after 60 days.

  • Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,000 annually for approved educational programs.
