Director Of Accounting
We are partnering with a growing, privately held real estate investment and operating platform to appoint a Director of Accounting. This is a high-impact leadership role offering broad oversight across corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance in an entrepreneurial environment. The Director of Accounting will report directly to senior leadership and oversee all accounting operations across the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. Main duties:
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations for the corporate entity, subsidiaries, and joint venture investments
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting
- Manage external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers
- Establish and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support business growth
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability

For the Director of Accounting we are seeking:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 6+ years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in real estate or asset-based industries
- Proven experience leading accounting functions, including financial reporting and audit coordination
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
- Experience managing multiple entities, including joint ventures or partnerships, is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting or property management systems (e.g., Yardi) is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally and present to leadership
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on process improvement and accountability
Competitive salary ranging from $150000 to $180000 annually; potential to go higher for well qualified candidates who can demonstrate additional value creation.
