Our client is building open agentic commerce. Give an agent $5, it spends it across hundreds of paid APIs, and it returns significantly more value. They believe this is the next chapter of the internet.

They are a high-growth, venture-backed technology company building at an unreasonable velocity. The team is small, highly leveraged, and focused on creating products that redefine how users interact with AI agents and commerce.

Position Overview:

This is the Chief of Staff hire. One of the most consequential bets they will make this year, because it scales the hardest thing to scale: attention.

This job is an extension of the CEO. You are the organizational engine of the company.

They are a 10-person team, in-person every day. Everyone is A-tier, hired for leverage, wearing many hats, each one running at the edge of their capacity. When a team this levered moves this fast, organization and communications are the first things traded away. Not because anyone is bad at them, but because they are spending every ounce of themselves on the leverage they were hired for. The result is organized chaos. Real velocity, brilliant people, not enough connective tissue.

You are to be that connective tissue.

They do approximately 50 things in a given week. The top 20 are done exceptionally well, usually because leadership attention raises the bar significantly. The other 30 are fine. But "fine" doesn't move the needle for a startup. The high-quality things are the only ones that matter: the moments where someone outside the company touches them, through communications, brand, or the way they show up, and remembers it.

If they did all 50 at the bar of the top 20, they would be a different company.

That's the job. You're a team-wide project manager. You unblock people, keep them on schedule, hold them to their commitments. You take the bar set on the top 20 and make it the bar on all 50. You are not here to fix a broken team. You're here to multiply an elite one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and elevate operational excellence across the company.
• Unblock people, keep the trains on time, and ensure team members hit their commitments without you ever becoming the bottleneck.
• Take things that are merely "fine" and make them excellent. Every place an outsider touches the company should leave the bar higher than you found it.
• Manage administrative operations including invoices, offer letters, contractor agreements, accounting, expenses, vendor management, and onboarding.
• Bring top-tier operational polish to the business.
• Own culture and momentum, including team events, celebrations, and the details that make the office an energizing place to work.
• Take ownership of anything that is important, ambiguous, and currently unowned.
• Represent the company with partners, candidates, and external stakeholders, raising people's opinion of the organization every time you engage.
• Turn chaos into structure faster than anyone around you, and make it stick.
• Write crisp communications on behalf of company leadership with polish that reflects the brand.
• Build relationships quickly and effectively in external environments.
• Sweat the details, from event planning and team experiences to presentations and partner-facing materials.
• Get energy from making elite people better, not from being the smartest person in the room.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is type-A in the best sense. They've done hard things at a high standard, perhaps in consulting, finance, a startup, or an operations role.

The resume matters less than the instinct: they make things around them more organized, more polished, and more on-time, and they can't help it.

At some point they realized they wanted to be in the room where things actually happen, not optimizing someone else's slide deck on a track they no longer want. They want something that matters. They want the variance.
