Director - Business & Finance
Manages the business and financial affairs of the District to ensure the effective stewardship of public funds in support of high-quality educational services. Serves as the District's chief financial officer, responsible for long-range fiscal planning, internal controls, statutory compliance, and financial transparency.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Five (5) years of experience directly related to government accounting and/or auditing, with two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- New Mexico School Business Official (SBO) Licensure or eligibility to obtain within 6 months
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the New Mexico Procurement Code (13-1-28 NMSA 1978) and experience supervising certified procurement staff
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated experience with school enterprise resource planning software (Tyler Technologies, Infinite Visions, or similar) and their integration with workforce management platforms (Frontline/Aesop)
- Deep understanding of the NMPED Manual of Procedures (PSAB), GASB standards, and Federal Uniform Grant Guidance (UGG)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and recommend sound fiscal action
- Exceptional communication and public-relations skills for interaction with staff, auditors, regulators, and governing bodies
- Ability to operate effectively under changing regulations, legislative mandates, and critical deadlines
- Demonstrated strategic planning, risk management, and executive-level financial leadership capability

Salary: Twelve months (234 days) per contract year and appropriate placement on the District Administrator Salary Schedule.

Conditions of Employment:
Ability to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and, upon an offer of employment, complete an Employee's Statement of Health and submit to a functional capacity evaluation at the District's expense to determine ability to perform job-related functions and fitness for duty. Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all background, criminal, and reference investigations.
