Marketing and Communications Generalist

Job Location: Charlestown, MA Duration: 06 Months Client: BMCHP -- 1911 Required Skills:

  • 5 + years' experience working in the field of marketing and communications.
  • 3 + years working in a digital marketing capacity
  • Experience launching a website and managing websites with a Content Management System is required
  • Experience in health insurance industry and/or with new product introductions is a plus.
  • Comfortable serving as a generalist and being assigned projects based on needed capacity
  • Flexible; willing and able to switch gears as needed
  • Accustomed to managing numerous high-priority projects simultaneously
  • Proactive; comfortable researching and presenting ideas for new opportunities
  • Effective in working collaboratively within small team as well as with other internal teams
  • Good interpersonal skills required to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Comfortable in client role serving as liaison to our vendors to help drive projects forward.
  • Strong knowledge of/experience with spectrum of marketing vehicles (traditional and digital advertising, collateral, online)
  • Superior writing, proofreading and editing skills; technical writing, ability to synthesize complicated information or processes into succinct writing
  • Solid project management and organizational skills; deadline- and detail-oriented
  • Adept at using internet to gather information; solid analytical and research skills
  • Experience using website content management system; Familiarity with HTML; mass email development
  • Comfort with digital media and social media content development and management
  • Proficiency for learning new systems and communicating business needs to IT personnel
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Ability to work additional hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities:

  • The Marketing and Communications Generalist oversees and contributes to projects targeting members, prospects, providers, BMCHP employees, and the general public.
  • The individual collaborates with marketing team managers and department staff as well as with other internal teams to gather and write content for various print and online internal and external communications.
  • This position alternately manages assignments independently and contributes to projects managed by other Marketing department managers, ensuring in both cases that internal and external deliverables are effectively met.
  • Maintains three company websites and manages all website update and enhancement requests from internal customers
  • Will assist in the launch of a new website; this requires ensuring that we meet all deadlines, provide materials and content to the vendor as needed, request and follow up on digital assets needed from the design team, and upload content to the new website.
  • Writes and edits content for member, provider, employee and marketing communications, as needed
  • Contributes to or manages internal communications projects (content and process) when needed, which may include PowerPoint presentation development
  • Project manages internal and external communications projects requested by other internal teams; these may include, but are not limited to member health intervention/disease-specific materials
  • Works with in-house creative team to ensure that website assets and print materials are designed to meet the needs of the target audience.
  • As needed, project manages various marketing activities, i.e., any online or other media used to reach prospects
