The individual will complete facility walk-throughs each day and review current Safety practices, to determine needed improvements, and to develop trainings and programs. The individual must be highly skilled at self-management and have the ability to take ownership of assigned projects.
We prefer a Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or three years of recent, related experience or training. An equivalent combination of both may be substituted. At minimum, candidates with significant Safety experience must possess a high school diploma. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and particularly Excel is required. Experience using Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandated recordkeeping applications or other governmental forms preferred. Excellent communication ability is required, in writing and presentation.
The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. Also exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-weather related extreme heat, water and humidity, and the risk of electrical shock. The usual noise level is very loud. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
