Job descriptionRN Manager – Labor & Delivery – Portsmouth, NH Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Days | Rotating Weekends Compensation: $100,000 – $148,000 annually (based on experience) Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis Overview An established acute care hospital serving the New England Seacoast region is seeking an experienced RN Manager of Labor & Delivery to oversee clinical operations, staff development, patient experience, quality outcomes, and fiscal performance for a growing Family Care Services unit. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse leader who excels at physician collaboration, team development, operational excellence, and driving quality maternal-child outcomes. The manager will work closely with Women's & Children's leadership, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional care for mothers, newborns, and families. Responsibilities Provide operational and clinical leadership for Labor & Delivery and Family Care Services. Manage daily departmental operations including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation. Conduct employee rounding, patient rounding, and initiatives focused on patient satisfaction. Support charge nurses with admission, discharge, and patient care coordination. Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain nursing staff. Complete employee evaluations, performance management, coaching, and development plans. Partner with clinical educators and perinatal safety leaders to ensure competency validation and staff development. Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and specialty practice standards. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and service excellence. Assist with budget management, supply utilization, and operational performance initiatives. Lead quality improvement projects and support departmental growth objectives.
