Electrician 6 Maintenance & ConstructionWPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Electrician 6 Maintenance & Construction or higher in our Green Bay, Wisconsin location. This position is represented by Local No. 420 IUOE.Work Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm - Monday - FridayPay & Benefits:Starting pay is $37.05 and offers regular increases per the bargaining agreement.Benefits Include:Medical/Dental/Vision Plan401K PlanPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysJob SummaryAssist in ensuring safe and efficient substation and transmission (S&T) electrical operations by performing maintenance and construction of substation equipment and transmission lines, installing and maintaining control devices, organizing work assignments, and completing necessary documents.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in performing electrical maintenance and construction of substation equipment and transmission lines:Operate high voltage switching equipmentPerform simple hot stick workPerform rubber protective goods applicationWork on energized conductors above 600 voltsWork in energized contact areas under observation of electrician class 1 or higherObserve and follow work procedures and safety practicesPerform work according to construction standards and proceduresAssist in ensuring efficient organization of work assignments:Obtain required tools, materials, and printsContact appropriate people to carry out assignmentsMaintain necessary documents and complete paperwork:Prepare reports following accounting proceduresComplete field revisions on drawings and recordsProvide relief for other positions as required, and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are presentMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED/HSED and one of the following:Associates Degree in an Electrical field or equivalentObtained Journeyman status in an Electrical, Instrument or I&E tradeEquivalent Armed Forces trainingValid drivers licenseMust have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within 6 monthsTesting RequirementsConstruction and Skilled Trades (CAST): Comprehension of pictured mechanical principles such as gears, levers, pulley systems, water flow, etc.; arithmetic skills in calculating distances shown in prints and drawings; and the ability to read and understand written material.
