Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments, reassessments, and monitoring; develop and implement individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans with clear medical record documentation.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens in collaboration with pharmacy and medical staff.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapy regarding diet progression and transitional feeding; clarify admission orders to ensure consistency with the established nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds to communicate patients' nutrition care plans, progress, and recommendations; serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based nutrition practice.
• Conduct meal rounds and tray audits; participate in menu development, review, and approval of general and therapeutic menus and substitutions.
• Participate in the facility's Performance Improvement Program, including data collection and analysis; provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with an active professional portfolio.
• Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy, enteral and parenteral nutrition support, and therapeutic diet planning.
• Ability to evaluate food/drug interactions and herb/supplement interactions.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to provide clear and concise medical record entries.
• Commitment to maintaining current continuing education and professional registration requirements.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an acute care, long-term acute care, or specialty hospital setting.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary team rounds including wound care and ventilator weaning protocols.
• Specialized certification in clinical nutrition or a related area.
