Senior Accountant – Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Vege Labs LLC – Glendale, CA $95,000 – $110,000 per year Full-Time | On-Site | Local Candidates Only IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING This is a fully onsite position based in Glendale, California. Only candidates currently residing within reasonable commuting distance to the Los Angeles County area will be considered. This is a hands-on manufacturing accounting role. Candidates must have recent experience working directly in manufacturing environments with inventory, cost accounting, production variances, BOMs, and month-end close responsibilities. Remote candidates, relocation candidates, and applicants without manufacturing accounting experience will not be considered. Position Summary Vege Labs LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience to support our growing personal care products manufacturing operation in Glendale, CA. This role is highly operational and works closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, QA, Inventory Control, and Management. The ideal candidate understands the realities of a manufacturing environment and can confidently manage inventory accounting, cost analysis, month-end close, and financial reporting in a fast‑paced setting. This is not a purely corporate accounting or FP&A role. We are seeking someone who has worked directly within manufacturing operations and understands inventory movement, production costing, and operational accounting. Key Responsibilities Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts including inventory, COGS, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and reserves Manage manufacturing cost accounting functions including: Inventory valuation BOM costing Labor and overhead analysis Production variance analysis Standard costing support Inventory reconciliations Analyze production activity, usage variances, scrap, and operational financial data to support business decisions Support inventory controls, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiatives Prepare monthly financial statements and operational reporting packages Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, sales/use tax reporting, and regulatory support Review accounting transactions for accuracy, coding, and compliance with company policies and GAAP Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies Work cross‑functionally with Production, Warehouse, QA, Purchasing, and Operations teams Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Minimum 3–5 years of recent manufacturing accounting experience required Strong hands‑on experience with: Inventory accounting Cost accounting Manufacturing variances BOMs and inventory movement Month‑end close General ledger reconciliations Accrual accounting ERP systems within manufacturing environments Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following industries is strongly preferred: Personal care products Cosmetics CPG manufacturing Food manufacturing Pharmaceutical manufacturing Chemical or batch manufacturing Experience with AccountMate is a plus.
