Overview The Costume & Make‑Up Consultant will transform team members into chilling or realistic characters for the Phantom Fall Fest attraction. The role uses cream and water‑based makeup, latex, and prosthetics, and may also help costume the team for special events. Responsibilities Engage guests and team members in a fun and welcoming manner. Add makeup and prosthetics to character performers to match the attraction design and theming. Recommend and create attention‑grabbing makeup and costume designs to enhance realism. Create stunning visuals and special effects that add realism and shock factor to character appearances. Assist character performers with costuming needs, including putting on or removing costumes. Assist with mending and storing costumes. Proactively monitor assigned areas to identify and report safety hazards or risks. Ensure compliance with and enforce all park policies, procedures, and labor laws. Perform duties in other areas or departments of the park as requested. Other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. No specific education requirements. Previous acting, costume, or character experience is desired but not required. Previous special‑effects makeup experience and portfolio are preferred. Ability to follow direction, multitask, and work in a fast‑paced team. Exceptional customer service skills. Requirements At least 16 years of age to comply with Pennsylvania child labor laws. Must obtain a performance work permit if required by state law. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on feet for most of the workday. Must be able to stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders as needed. Must be able to lift, push, pull, or hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to use hands to grasp, control, and move objects or tools. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain standing for most of the day. Ability to sit while applying makeup. Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders. Ability to lift, push, pull, or hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more. Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to outdoor and indoor park areas. Variable outdoor temperatures, including high heat, cold, sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, and ice.
