Job description
Overview The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is looking to fill a high school seasonal assistant track and field coaching position within the Athletics Department. We are interested in someone dedicated to program development with coaching student-athletes and guidance with qualities of character development. The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is currently accepting applications for a Girls' Cross Country Assistant Coach for the Fall 2026 season. This is a seasonal interscholastic coaching position for a competitive CIF girls' Cross Country program. We are interested in finding someone who will serve as an excellent role model to represent OLP with experience and dedication to developing the program and building it for future seasons. The assistant coach must be able to encourage individual participation and skill while developing team spirit, cooperation, and fair play. The assistant coach models sportsmanship and competition and upholds the School Mission throughout their program. Essential qualities include: experienced track and field coaching skills and knowledge, good communication, teamwork philosophy, and character development for female student-athletes. A minimum of three years of high school coaching or equivalent experience is preferred. Applicants must have a current TB test and CPR/AED, and First-Aid Certification. Applicants must have a Livescan background review and obtain the required CIF paperwork, including coaching certification, concussion education, and sudden cardiac arrest education, before hire. This is a non-exempt, seasonal position. Responsibilities Coach and develop high school athletes in track and field and cross country, focusing on participation, skill development, teamwork, and fair play. Serve as an exemplary role model representing the school and its mission. Requirements Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and two professional references from current or former supervisors. Provide official transcripts, a current negative TB test result or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, complete required training, and successfully complete Livescan fingerprinting. Employment is contingent upon obtaining fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
