Position Details Position Information Position Title Perkins EMT and Paramedic Learning Assistant Pay Grade Level G-10 LA FLSA Non-Exempt Benefits Michigan Public School Employees Retirement Systems Department Allied Health Campus Location Escanaba Min Salary $17.96 Max Salary $21.13 FTE 50 Summary Full-time/Part-time Part-Time Position Type Temporary Job Summary/Basic Function The primary responsibility of this grant-funded, temporary position is to provide academic assistance to EMT & Paramedic students. Minimum Qualifications Possess a current State of Michigan EMT or Paramedic License Candidate must be committed to student retention and success and display exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills Preferred Qualifications Preference to candidates with experience in individual and group mentoring and tutoring, and/or teaching. Preference to Bay College EMT/Paramedic graduates Experience working as an EMT or paramedic for a Life Support Agency Experience as an Instructor Coordinator Bachelor’s degree in EMT/Paramedic or a related field Months Per Year Hours Worked Per Week TBD Work Schedule Schedule to be set with supervisor prior to start of semester; schedule may vary on student need and availability. Supervision Exercised NA Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the EMT/Paramedic Program Faculty Lead. Job Duties Job Duty Assist the faculty member in EMT/Paramedic classes as needed Job Duty Assist the EMT/Paramedic department staff and faculty in the remediation process for students who are having difficulty meeting the learning outcomes of the EMT/Paramedic program. Job Duty Facilitate individual and group academic coaching sessions to students in the EMT/Paramedic programs.
