Visiting Assistant Professor of Life Sciences

Visiting Assistant Professor of Life Sciences Review will begin May 15, 2026 and will continue until filled. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and be available to start teaching in August 2026. Desired Start Date: August 3, 2026. Job Responsibilities One-year visiting position in the Life Sciences Division with the possibility for renewal. Primary teaching responsibilities focus on contributing to and teaching in the collaboratively-created Anatomy & Physiology I and II lecture and laboratory sections. These introductory courses primarily support students in the Nursing and Athletic Performance programs. Education and Experience Required Masters in Biology or a Life Science-related field At least one year of experience teaching at the undergraduate level Demonstrated ability to be an excellent teacher Experience working with college students or persons from a diverse background Preferred Doctorate, or doctoral candidates with a scheduled completion date of August 1, 2026 Experience teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology lecture and/or lab Commitment to contributing to a climate of equity and inclusion Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proficiency in Google and/or MS Office Suite, Learning Management System (Brightspace) Commitment to mentoring and advising students Commitment to service Physical Demands Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g., sitting at a desk, working on a computer) Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and via email Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10–20 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files, lab supplies) Ability to navigate office environment, including walking short distances, navigating stairs/ tiered classroom, and bending or reaching as needed Supervision of Employees Handling biological specimens and maintaining a secure and safe laboratory. Equipment to be Used Instructional tools (computer, projector) and dissection tools. Job Type Full-time, 9 months, 35 hours/week. Salary $51,500.00 - $64,640.00 per year.
