Responsibilities Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan is a beautiful and state of the art -bed facility. Cedar Creek provides evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults struggling with mental health issues. Description
The Unit Secretary performs and coordinates the clerical and public relations functions of the unit. This includes:
- Serving as unit receptionist, answering phone calls, directing visitors and professionals, as needed.
- Acts as a backup to Mental Health/Behavioral Technicians, making observation rounds and providing patient care, as needed.
- Monitors status of laboratory and other diagnostic tests ordered.
- Conducts chart audits daily to ensure presence of necessary documentation.
- Responsible for preparing charts for admissions.
- Responsible for distributing all discharge paperwork to community providers and referring agencies.
- Responsible for filing paperwork as needed.
Hours
This position offers full time hours, based on a schedule of 3 hour shifts per week, including an every other weekend rotation. 9am to 9:pm

Qualifications Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working as a psychiatric technician strongly preferred.
Comprehensive general clerical skills are required.
Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
