$5k sign on bonus for external candidates. CT Technologist Responsibilities Work between the x-ray and CT departments. Always verify at least two forms of identification (name, DOB). Start IVs on all CT patients receiving contrast dye. Instruct patients on appropriate positioning to obtain accurate images. Maintain radiographic equipment in quality working order. Obtain images for any areas requested by the physician or radiologist. Use radiation on the patient when necessary. Track patient records accurately. Assist radiologists and physicians in interpreting and evaluating images. Prevent exposure of specific body areas to reduce radiation exposure. Communicate with patients, prepare them by removing garments or jewelry, and explain the procedure. Position patients properly for x-rays and CT scans. Set equipment parameters to optimize density, detail, and contrast. Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to aid diagnosis. Closely follow physician instructions, prepare equipment, position patients, and obtain optimal diagnostic images. Communicate calmly and professionally with all patients, including elderly, ailing, and handicapped. Apply HIPAA to every patient interaction. Record reports in the patient chart after the Radiologist has read the images and report is dictated. Verify each patient’s order before scanning; if questions arise, consult the ordering physician. Check patient creatinine/GFR levels. Remind patients about diabetic medication (e.g., not taking it). Ensure patient fills out consent before the exam. Required Qualifications Training from an accredited radiologic technologist program. ARRT certification and registration. South Carolina state license. Will hire recent graduates based on clinical hours. Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay ranges from $29 to $52 based on experience, education, certifications, and local labor markets.
