Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (TBIP) Secretary

Applications are being accepted by the College Place School District for a Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (TBIP) Secretary at the High School. This assignment is open for internal and external consideration at this time. Interested internal candidates will need to apply online by 4:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2026 to be considered prior to external candidate applicants. The position is open until filled.

Reports to: TBIP Supervisor or Designee

Bargaining Group: ESE of CP

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position: 3.5 hours per day, 130 days per year (10 months)

Salary: $24.31 - $30.35 (educational incentive available in accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement as negotiated)

Anticipated Start Date: 8/17/2026

Benefits: None

Leave: 9 sick days (pro-rated for mid-year hires), 9 paid holidays

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED)
  • Knowledge with integrating technology into job results
  • Knowledge of school procedures
  • Skill to manage timelines and meet deadlines
  • Public Relations skills
  • Skill to manage multiple tasks and projects

Additional Skills: Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish is required. District tests to verify skill levels.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain student records by recording student, health, attendance, grades, schedules and all other district and state information required for each student enrolled in the school building.
  • Maintain staff information by keeping track of absences and substitute reporting as necessary for payroll purposes.
  • Organizes work by reading and routing correspondence, collecting information and initiating communication as needed to facilitate the education process.
  • Serve individuals by answering questions, scheduling appointments, and facilitating needs of students, staff, community, and administrators.
  • Perform health room tasks as needed, such as but not limited to the dispensation of prescribed medicines and first aid services.
  • Maintains office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies and communicating with the business office.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls when processing revenue received in the school building.
  • Acknowledges the importance of safety by maintaining a safe and orderly working environment and following safe work practices.
  • Protect the District by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational trainings.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed or requested.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
  • Generally, the job requires:
    • ~ 5% lifting ~ 40 lbs.
    • ~ 55% of the work day standing, reaching, bending, stooping, walking
    • ~ 40% of the time working from a sitting position
  • Work efficiently, effectively and timely
  • Produce work that is accurate, neat and thorough
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and require minimal supervision
  • Interact and communicate with others in a respectful, courteous and cooperative manner
  • Maintain adaptability by being positive, versatile and flexible
  • Support school rules and District policies and procedures
