EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SPECIALIST (2 VACANCIES) JobID: 3030 POSITION DETAILS EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year Position Type: Exempt Days per year: 178 FTE: 1.0 Benefits Eligible: Yes POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing academic instruction and supervision of pre‑school children. Assess student progress and provide feedback to stakeholders regarding individual student performance. Collect data and prepare reports regarding performance and growth of students in order to accurately inform future programming. Other duties may include serving meals, providing clerical support, following individual student plans, and material preparation. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement ECE curriculum with appropriate activities, instruction, classroom management and supervision. Collaborate with team members regarding activities, planning, and resources for all students. Assess student progress. Use assessments to measure effectiveness of instruction and modify instruction as necessary. Conduct parent‑teacher conferences, home visits and regular communication with families. Provide assistance and resources to families. Maintain student records, including attendance, meal records, student observation, progress reports, TS GOLD documentation, contact records, and injury/accident reports. Maintain records and information regarding service needs including history to document compliance with Head Start requirements. Maintain a learning environment that is developmentally appropriate and meets the requirements of the Health Department and Licensing agency. Establish student, staff and parental rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems. Actively participate in PLCs and other required training. Apply and implement knowledge, skills and new understandings to support instructional programming. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES May provide supervision of support personnel. Conduct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interview participation, training and development, assignment and direction of work, performance feedback, addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. One year related work experience. Bi‑lingual/Spanish preferred. English fluency to be determined through the interview process. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS Valid Colorado Driver's License. Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain. Valid Colorado Teaching License with ECE endorsement (preferred). GENERAL EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change. Possesses computer and technology skills. Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Collaborates well with supervisors and co‑workers. Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions. Able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision. Communicates effectively with the School District community. Skilled in analysis, instruction, negotiation, coordination, communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal interactions. Proficient in comparing, computing, synthesizing, and evaluating information. Meets attendance standards and works the necessary hours to fulfill essential responsibilities. Upholds a generally positive attitude. Complies with all District policies and procedures. Adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and policies. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent lifting 5 to 10 pounds. Occasional lifting up to fifty pounds. Frequent sitting, walking, and standing. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and reaching. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is sometimes quiet. The environment is mostly clean and comfortable. REPORTS TO ECE Director. LOCATION ECE at Maddox. SALARY Salary placement on the Early Childhood Education Specialist Salary Schedule between $32,778.93 and $73,523.71 based upon education, licensure, and previous job‑related experience.
