Job description

Overview Canyon Ranch has been redefining wellness travel and transformative hospitality for more than 45 years. As the global leader in destination wellness, Canyon Ranch inspires lifelong well‑being through world‑class experts, personalized guidance, and immersive experiences that help guests live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Now, we are entering an exciting new chapter with the opening of Canyon Ranch Austin in October 2026 — our newest wellness destination nestled in the Texas Hill Country. Designed to connect guests with nature, adventure, restoration, and personal growth, Austin will build upon the legacy established in Tucson, Lenox, and Las Vegas while creating new opportunities for exceptional talent to shape the future of wellness hospitality. Recognized among the most outstanding hotels in the world by the Michelin Guide 2025, Canyon Ranch offers more than a career — it offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others every day. Join the founding team at Canyon Ranch Austin. Recruitment is underway today, with anticipated start dates beginning in Fall 2026. Canyon Ranch Austin is seeking an experienced and inspiring Housekeeping Manager to join our pre‑opening leadership team. This critical role will be responsible for building and leading a world‑class Housekeeping and Laundry operation that delivers exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and comfort standards across the resort. The Housekeeping Manager will oversee all housekeeping functions including guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, uniform operations, linen management, and a full in house laundry facility. This leader will play a pivotal role in establishing departmental standards, recruiting and developing colleagues, implementing operating procedures, and ensuring readiness for opening day. Following opening, the Housekeeping Manager will drive operational excellence through meticulous attention to detail, luxury presentation standards, environmental stewardship, colleague engagement, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate understands that cleanliness is not simply an operational requirement—it is an essential component of the wellness experience and guest journey at Canyon Ranch. Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE: Pre-Opening Leadership Lead all Housekeeping and Laundry pre‑opening planning, organization, and operational readiness activities. Develop and implement departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), service standards, inspection programs, and training materials. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, IT, and project teams to support departmental opening readiness and facility commissioning. Monitor room readiness and coordinate closely with Front Office and Engineering teams to optimize guest experience and operational efficiency. Implement preventive maintenance reporting procedures and maintain effective communication regarding room conditions and repair needs. Ensure all areas of the property reflect a polished, welcoming, and wellness‑focused environment. Laundry & Linen Operations Lead all aspects of the resort's full‑service in‑house laundry operation. Oversee processing and quality control of guest room linens, spa linens, pool linens, restaurant linens, uniforms, and specialty textiles. Establish laundry production schedules, workflow standards, and quality assurance processes. Manage linen inventories, par levels, replacement programs, and textile lifecycle management. Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of laundry equipment and systems. Monitor chemical usage, water consumption, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives within laundry operations. Participate in Forbes readiness initiatives, mock inspections, and quality assurance programs. Financial & Administrative Management Develop and manage departmental operating budgets, forecasts, labor plans, and capital expenditures. Monitor labor productivity, scheduling, payroll, and operational expenses. Analyze departmental performance metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and service quality. Manage inventories, purchasing, vendor relationships, and expense controls. Maintain accurate departmental records and reporting related to productivity, inspections, inventory, and expenses. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies while maintaining luxury service standards. Safety, Sustainability & Compliance Ensure compliance with all OSHA, health, safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations. Maintain proper training and handling procedures for cleaning chemicals, laundry products, and equipment. Champion sustainability initiatives related to water conservation, energy usage, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible cleaning practices. Conduct regular safety inspections and departmental training sessions. Ensure compliance with Canyon Ranch policies and operational standards. Leadership & Colleague Development Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain a high‑performing Housekeeping and Laundry team. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and recognition. Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and career development planning. Lead daily departmental meetings, operational reviews, and communication sessions.
