Multi Asset Solutions (MAS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) at Goldman Sachs. It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives for clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset portfolio design and implementation and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the MAS team. With investment professionals across the globe, MAS invests or advises on assets for some of the world's leading corporations, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, family offices, RIAs and other wealth advisors.
We are seeking a Vice President to serve as a Lead Portfolio Manager (LPM) for Goldman Sachs' Custom Model Portfolio business. This client-facing role combines deep portfolio construction expertise, strong knowledge of the retail asset management landscape, and commercial judgment in a high-growth, high-visibility area of the firm. The LPM will represent the GSAM custom models platform to RIA clients, partner with client CIOs and investment teams on portfolio design, and lead custom model portfolio construction efforts from pitch through launch. Once portfolios are live, the LPM will serve as the primary portfolio expert for recurring client engagement, delivering timely market updates, performance and attribution insights, and high-value portfolio content for financial advisors and their clients. The role requires close coordination across clients, portfolio management, distribution, sales specialists, research, and marketing teams, and is well suited for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with meaningful client and commercial accountability.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent), CFA or MBA strongly preferred
- 8 to 12+ years of relevant experience
- Asset Management / Models experience a must
- Experience crafting model portfolio marketing narratives for a retail financial advisor audience
- Experience leveraging AI to build scale into portfolio management strategy strongly preferred
- Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required (will be sponsored by the firm if not already completed)
- Student of the markets with practical experience across multiple asset classes
- Understanding of portfolio management processes and scale via tech enabled automation
- Experience pitching to and advising clients, with preference for experience engaging Financial Advisors, RIA C-suite and investment leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial ownership mindset, commercial judgment, and ability to lead complex cross-functional workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with industry data through such sources as Morningstar Direct, Cerulli, PSN, Bloomberg, and FactSet.
Salary Range: The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
