Program Director: Surgical Technology

Compensation: $93,635 $117,000 + Excellent Employee Benefits

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Program Director who is ready to transition from clinical expert to academic leader. This is not about leaving your specialty behind; it is about expanding your influence. You will remain deeply engaged in the Surgical Technology field while stepping into a role that demands your clinical wisdom, your leadership presence, and your vision for what education can be.

You won't manage spreadsheetsyou'll mentor faculty, shape curriculum, and translate your OR expertise into graduates who don't just pass the board exam but excel in it. As the bridge between clinical practice and academic standards, you'll own our students' success and keep our program at the forefront of Washington State's healthcare community.

Your Mission:

  • Lead with Vision: Develop curriculum, guide faculty, and ensure graduates are board-ready and OR-ready.
  • Champion Accreditation: Own CAAHEP/ABHES compliance and set the regional standard for excellence.
  • Mentor the Mentors: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and instructional innovation.
  • Drive Student Success: Engage directly with studentsretain them, troubleshoot issues, and coach them toward confident, skilled careers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a USDE-recognized, accredited institution
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program (or recognized military training equivalent)
  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through an NCCA-accredited national certification program
  • Current license, registration, or certification as required by local, state, or federal law
  • 3+ years of operating room experience in the scrub role within the last 5 years OR 3+ years of teaching experience in the field of Surgical Technology
  • Evidence of continued education and training in Education Methods, Surgical Technology standards, and credentialing and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer literacy
