Job description

Director of Capital Markets

As Director of Capital Markets, reporting to the Treasurer, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the company's capital markets activities. You will be primarily responsible for developing strategies for debt financing, investments, foreign exchange, liquidity management, and optimizing the company's capital structure to support ongoing operations and future growth. This is a hybrid role located in our San Jose, CA office or Research Triangle Park, North Carolina office, and the ideal candidate will be expected to be in the office 3 days per week.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for managing the company's capital structure, including debt financing, commercial paper and revolver, while optimizing investments and liquidity management to support ongoing operations and future growth.
  • Oversee capital return program in accordance with executive guidance; manage team in executing dividend and share repurchase programs.
  • Develop and execute foreign exchange strategies, including Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Net Investment Hedging programs, to mitigate currency risk and protect the company's financial performance across global operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast foreign exchange exposure, analyze market trends, and provide insights on the performance of FX hedging programs to senior leadership.
  • Optimize cash centralization by collaborating with internal stakeholders, including Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and Legal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, technology vendors, and other strategic partners.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of capital markets, economic trends, and interest rate movements to provide insights and recommendations for treasury operations and financial strategies.
  • Partner with the business, acting as an internal consultant to advise on shareholder value creation for various activities and analysis, including the cash conversion cycle, internal capital structure, and lease versus buy activities.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance requirements related to capital markets activities, including reporting and disclosure obligations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with capital market activities, ensuring alignment with the company's overall risk management framework.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Related professional certifications (e.g. CFA, CTP, CRM) are highly desirable
  • Minimum of 15 years of overall experience
  • 10 years of experience in capital markets, including at least 5 years in a corporate Treasury role
  • Proven experience in building high-performing teams and mentoring talent
  • Experience with acquisitions and integration
  • Advanced technical skills with Bloomberg, Kyriba, FXall, Oracle Cloud, and Power BI are desirable

Compensation: The target salary range for this position is $201,000 - $266,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
