Position Summary HiAccounting seeks a Staff Accountant to join its outsourced accounting division. The primary responsibility is the preparation of accounting workpapers and reconciliations to support the issuance of financial statements and management reports. The candidate should be self‑driven, client‑service focused, and passionate about accounting. Reports to the Director of Accounting under the supervision of an Accounting Manager and/or Senior Accountant. Technical Responsibilities Prepare and organize workpapers and reconciliations for financial statements closing. Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable aging, accounts payable aging, intercompany loans, debt, retained earnings/equity, and departmentalized revenue and expenses. Prepare financial statements and management reports. Assist in preparing budgets and variance analysis. File general excise tax returns and other regulatory reports as needed. Assist with payroll processing and payroll taxes using technology partner APS. Organize and prioritize work, communicating status with senior/manager. Understand general business law, entity formation and types. Stay current on regulatory and industry changes to respond to client needs. Client Service Responsibilities Deliver best‑in‑class customer service, being proactive, responsive, professional, and accurate. Understand clients’ businesses and industries; work closely with management to define service needs. Act as or be part of the team serving as the primary liaison with client personnel, ensuring deadlines are met and managing client expectations regarding deliverables, budgets, and timelines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience. Experience: Knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and generally accepted accounting principles, or any combination of education and experience providing the necessary skills to meet the minimum qualifications. Licenses: CPA license desired; must have obtained or desire to obtain a CPA license. Computer Skills: Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Prior knowledge of Intacct, QuickBooks, or other accounting programs is helpful. Other Requirements: Perform other duties as required; must be able to travel, including overnight or extended stays as needed; availability to work additional hours or weekends during projects and tax deadlines; possession of a valid driver’s license; availability in person or electronically to senior executives in case of emergency.
