Purpose of Role:

This role is ideal for a creative and strategic communicator who excels at crafting compelling content that informs, inspires, and connects employees across a global organization. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity for the role to transition to a permanent, full-time position following a successful trial period.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality internal communications that bring our culture and strategy to life. From storytelling and campaign messaging to managing internal channels and creating multimedia content, your work will play a key role in building a more engaged and aligned workforce.

Why choose Weir:

Be part of a global organization dedicated to building a better future: At Weir, the growing world depends on us. This creates opportunities for us to take on new challenges, explore new areas, learn, progress and excel. Best of all, there is no set path that our people must take. Instead, everyone is given the support and freedom to tailor-make their own career and do the best work of their lives. Feel empowered to be yourself and belong: Weir is a welcoming, inclusive place, where each individual's contribution is recognized and all employees are encouraged to innovate, collaborate and be themselves. We continually focus on people and their wellbeing. We believe in fairness and choose to be honest, transparent and authentic in everything we do.

What you'll do:

Content & Storytelling: Create engaging, authentic employee stories and compelling content that support business priorities, reflect Weir's values, and strengthen employee connection. This includes newsletters, rewards and recognition communications, and executive messaging.

Channel & Campaign Delivery: Plan and deliver communications across internal channels, partnering with stakeholders including senior leaders and regional communications specialists to execute campaigns that drive engagement and alignment. Manage communications for strategic projects such as HR initiatives and transformation change programs.

Brand & Editorial Standards: Ensure all communications maintain a consistent voice, tone, and style aligned with Weir's brand and communication standards, including executive presentations and management enablement packs.

Measurement & Improvement: Monitor engagement metrics and employee feedback using tools like Staffbase analytics to optimize content effectiveness and continuously improve communication outcomes. Adapt campaigns based on insights to enhance future communications.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with global teams, including finance, operations, and special projects like Global Days (e.g., International Day of Women), sourcing stories and coordinating with a global network.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required, with an international trip to the Global Marketing conference approximately every two years. Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you'll bring:

Must-haves: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Minimum of five years' experience in agency or corporate communications, with a strong track record of creating and managing internal content. Strong writing skills with a journalistic approach, capable of crafting mission-driven content and executive communications. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365, and experience with digital signage platforms or Staffbase.

Nice-to-haves: Experience reaching frontline employees in manufacturing environments and creating management enablement materials. Video editing and graphic design skills to produce multimedia content. Experience working on strategic change communications and HR-related projects. Ability to create executive presentations and work with senior stakeholders on communication strategy and delivery.

Why join Weir? We live our values we think safety first, do the right thing, respect each other, aim high, and delight our customers. We encourage our people to lead by example and celebrate our successes. We do this by combining our deep customer insights, world-class engineering, materials science expertise, and intelligent automation to deliver innovative end-to-end solutions incorporating our signature technologies. We believe your voice matters and your ideas make a difference. We're working hard to nurture a diverse culture where our people feel like they belong and can do the best work of their lives. You can help shape our unique culture through our inclusion networks and safety initiatives.
