City/State:White Plains, New YorkDepartment:WPH Patient Accounting_6Work Shift:DayWork Days:MON-FRIScheduled Hours:8 AM-4 PMHours Per Pay Period:75Pay Rate/Range:$27.61 - $41.42For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.Job SummaryThe Patient Accounts Billing Representative is responsible for review of unbilled claims and bills, assure timely billing and claim resolution to expedite payment. Process all accounts in order to minimize billing time and maximize cash flow. Completes the editing of claims in the HIS system. Completes the processing of claims either on paper or electronically to third party carriers. Completes follow-up on aged accounts as directed. Review trial balance reports and processed late charges.Essential FunctionsUnderstands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and BehaviorsInsure adherence to federal and state billing regulationsCompletes accurate billing to all third-party insurance carriersMonitors host system and biller scrubber to insure timely resolution of unbilled accountsCompletes review of third-party trial balance reports within the current monthResearches and initiates refunds to patients or insurance carriers as neededSends inquiries to patients regarding inaccurate or incomplete informationCompletes charge adjustments and allowances entries on accounts as neededRecodes accounts by insurance carrier and plan number and enters into the HIS for re-billing purposesProcesses rejections on third party accountsReviews mail correspondence and responds accordinglyReview on-line billing edits for errors, corrections, or missing information. Enter necessary corrections into HISAssists with telephone calls as neededCompletes rebilling process for late charges dailyMonitors host system and bill scrubber for billing delays and to expedite processingPerforms all other related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Required1-3 years Clerical and business aptitude with 1-2 years of Hospital experience required Requiredless than 1 year Medical terminology PreferredClerical experience required (Medium proficiency)Basic Computer skills (Medium proficiency)Patient Financial Svcs Spec - HBI Learning Must be completed during onboarding process Upon Hire RequiredWhite Plains Hospital Medical Center is an equal employment opportunity employer.
