In-Home Care Aide / Personal Care Assistant (PCA) – Queen Anne's County, MD

Position Overview:

We are seeking compassionate, dependable In-Home Care Aides to provide personal care and supportive services to elderly and disabled clients throughout Queen Anne's County, MD. In this role, you'll assist clients with activities of daily living, promote independence, maintain safety, and improve overall quality of life while delivering high-quality care in the client's home. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, empathy, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills when working with vulnerable populations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred; active Home Health Aide (HHA) certification required.
• Must hold and maintain all certifications, registrations, and credentials required by the State of Maryland for home care services.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required if providing client transportation (services may include transportation to appointments).
• Must pass criminal background screening and any required checks.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in in-home care, personal care, home health aide, caregiving, or related direct care preferred; experience with elderly, disabled, or medically fragile populations preferred.
• Able to assist with personal care, ADLs, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping; maintain accurate records; and comply with applicable state, local, and agency regulations.
• Compassion, empathy, and client-focused service; strong communication, time management, observation, and reporting skills; dependability and professionalism; able to work independently; problem-solving and critical thinking; cultural sensitivity; and the physical ability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene, and personal care.
• Provide support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation as appropriate.
• Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance when needed.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Provide medication reminders in accordance with care plans and applicable regulations.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Accompany or transport clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when authorized.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or environment to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and visit records.
• Follow all infection control, safety, and client care procedures.
• Maintain professional boundaries and uphold client rights and dignity.
• Collaborate with family members, care coordinators, and healthcare professionals as needed.
