The Data Governance & Metadata Analyst is responsible for defining, governing, and enforcing enterprise metadata workflows across domains. This role leads the design and execution of metadata creation, review, approval, and publication processes, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment with established standards. The Lead Business Analyst facilitates workshops with data stewards and subject matter experts to harmonize definitions, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus, while establishing quality checkpoints to ensure metadata accuracy and readiness for publication. Acting as a senior working?level authority, the role provides analytical leadership, ensures adherence to governance practices, and supports scalable, repeatable metadata management across a federal health entity. Additional work may include quality assurance and testing, technical writing, understanding end-user needs and experiences, having a training mindset to support customer learning, and establishing data management and governance practices.
This role is not focused on advanced modeling, dashboard development, or data engineering.
