POSITION SUMMARY
As a Transportation Coordinator you will provide safe timely and courteous transportation services for residents while supporting overall resident services operations. You will coordinate and schedule transportation for medical appointments outings and other activities maintain accurate records and ensure vehicles are in proper working condition. This role requires strong communication with residents families and care teams as well as a commitment to safety and service excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport residents (and care providers when needed) to scheduled destinations in a safe courteous and timely manner.
Prioritize passenger safety at all times and maintain accountability for all residents during transport.
Assist residents with special needs during transportation including carrying packages opening doors assisting with vehicle entry/exit and escorting to destinations.
Operate wheelchair lifts and properly secure wheelchairs using safety devices during transport.
Coordinate and arrange transportation schedules in accordance with resident requests and established guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of transportation requests and completed trips.
Communicate effectively with residents families and caregivers regarding scheduling pick-up and drop-off times.
Review daily transportation schedules and coordinate with other Transportation Coordinators.
Transport residents for planned outings coordinated by other departments.
Provide miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed.
Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections including checking fuel oil tires and overall readiness.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and document routine maintenance and service checks.
Notify supervisor of vehicle malfunctions or required repairs.
Assist with scheduling and transporting vehicles for service appointments.
Operate vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Participate in Department of Transportation drug testing and required safe driving programs.
Notify supervisor immediately of resident concerns incidents or changes in condition.
Assist Front Desk operations as needed.
Log and deliver packages to residents and departments.
Attend department meetings and required in-service trainings.
Follow all safety loss prevention and infection control procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $26.85/hr
Hours: On-Call
Shift Schedule: Day Shift; 8 AM - 4:30 PM; 9 AM - 5:30 PM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of three (3) years of licensed driving experience.
Valid California Class C drivers license with a clean driving record and no suspensions or revocations within the past three years.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills including scheduling systems or willingness to learn.
Experience working with senior populations preferred.
Ability to safely transport residents including those using wheelchairs.
Ability to read maps and follow directions accurately.
Ability to operate various vehicle types including passenger cars vans and buses.
Strong communication skills with the ability to read write and speak English effectively.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a courteous friendly and helpful attitude at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day.
Ability to stoop bend stretch and squat to load and unload cargo.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds including luggage medical equipment and groceries.
Ability to work outdoors and tolerate varying weather conditions (heat cold rain).
Ability to operate vehicles safely on wet or slippery roads.
Fine motor skills and good visual acuity.
