Job description
Are you a new CDL graduate looking for truck driver training? Drive with J.B. Hunt\'s Apprenticeship Program and receive on-the-job training and experience with an industry leader.

Drivers in this program work with an experienced J.B. Hunt driver trainer for six weeks before transitioning to a full-time position upon successful completion. Driver will be paid $200 per day during training.

This position is paid an hourly rate for all hours worked plus an activity-based bonus payment. The activity-based bonus payment is the sum of your eligible activity pay less your base hourly earnings for the week.
  • $18 per hour
  • Holiday pay per day: $220
  • Drivers in this position over the last six to twelve months have averaged annualized earnings of $78,000

  • Daily tenure rate*: $3-$36 per day after one year of service
  • Cent per mile rate: $0.47
  • Detention pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
  • Drop and hook pay: $35.00 per stop
  • Live load/unload per stop: $53.00 per stop
  • Hazmat per load: $25.00
  • Refrigerated per load: $30.00
  • Vendor drop: $20 per load

*Daily tenure pay begins after twelve months of employment and increases annually based on years of employment.

In addition to the number of activities completed, factors which may affect annualized earnings include training completed, paid breaks, endorsements, tenure, equipment type and number of days worked each week. This position may be eligible for safety bonuses and incentives based on profitability or performance, as applicable.

J.B. Hunt offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), two weeks of paid parental leave, and six days with holiday pay.
